Enter every moment as if you chose it.  I remember years ago hearing an ER doc turned environmentalist speak about how observing the dramatic increase in cancer, autoimmune diseases, and more led him to research why, and conclude: We’ve been killing the earth with our pollutants, deforestation, pouring/placing toxins into the ocean, strip mining, etc., and in response the planet is killing us,  I bring that up because when Lisa and I were talking to her son Andrew, he said a similar thing about what’s going on with the COVID pandemic.

Whether that’s literally what’s going on or not, how powerful and game-changing would it be if we approached it that way?  The more I live, the more I realize how we see and frame our experiences makes ALL the difference in the world.  Our perspectives truly create heavens or hells from the same thing!  Eckhart Tolle said: “Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it. Always work with it, not against it. Make it your friend and ally, not your enemy. This will miraculously transform your whole life.”

What would this look like personally, communally, and nationally in these crazy, social distancing times?  Sisters and brothers, what if we realized we are NOT victims, and in many ways our “world”, be it our life or the planet, is as WE made it (obviously I’m not talking about abuse and such)?  I’m looking at the large-scale, dramatic upheaval brought by COVID like a muscle I pulled or bone I broke.  In other words, it’s a reminder of how fragile us humans are, how unpredictable life is, how central togetherness, compassion, and unity are, and why it’s crucial to care well for ourselves, one another, and our world. How about you?
