Hi Friends!
I wrote a book, an actual publisher published it, and now it’s available everywhere! Words can’t describe how excited and I am!!! 🥳🤸🏻♀️💫💙🤗 I’m also a bit dumbfounded, as in “am I dreaming? Is this real?”, but mostly STOKED. It’s titled Falling into Love: The Transformative Power of Community.
Back on November 10, 2008 I was living a dream life. Stationed in Las Vegas, I was a super successful officer in the air force, who not only was lucky enough to fly for a living, but also had the honor of working and teaching with the most skilled warriors in the military. On top of that, I was engaged to be married. On that fateful day, though, my whole world crashed and burned. In a surreal, otherworldly chain of events, while hiking with my fiancee, her 8-year-old son, and my 3-year-old daughter, I slipped, slid, and plummeted 30-feet headfirst off a cliff onto a boulder.
While I should have died, I didn’t, and I believe Love is the reason. I think the Big Love of family, friends, strangers, medical workers, and God not only saved my life, but also transformed my reality for the better! Life on the other side of losing my air force career due to medical retirement, ability to drive (I lost my peripheral vision and depth perception), and eventually my fiancee-turned wife to divorce, is truly more magical and amazing than I ever dreamed possible! Falling into Love is a memoir about the accident and two months I spent recovering in the ICU, wherein I reflect on life, love, community, purpose, prayer, and God, among other things.
